Christopher ARMSTRONG and Ann MARCHEL (MARSHALL?)
County Fermanagh, Ireland to Fitzroy Township, Carleton County, Ontario, Canada in 1834
also James MILLS
February 28, 2006:
I have conducted considerable research on one of the two Armstrong families
that have settled in the Fitzroy area. Information can be found at:
July 23, 2008: (new link)
http://www.armstronggenealogy.com and click on the top left button “Family Details”
where you will see that Christopher Armstrong was one of the first settlers in the Fitzroy
region in 1834.
As part of this exchange, I am hoping that you may have some pictures of them,
their location or of the Swamp Tavern that Christopher opened ~1834. In addition,
one of my other relatives James Mills was the first post master of Kinburn.
Lastly, I am hoping that somewhere in the annals of the local history that there is
more detail than I already have.
