    my name is Gary Burns, my dad's name was Garfield(1914), 
    His dad's name was Lawrence, conc.9, l21 w1/2 goulbourn township.
Then gap...........to Jeremiah burns . 
I know I need to spend a lot of time at the library re birth and death adds but,
do you have any short cuts? My dad's mum was a Tierney (Mary J died 1956). The 
Tierney's are pretty easy to trace but the Burns' are an other story.

Just to let you know that I'm still trying to sort out all the Burns, too.
 
The first Jeremiah Burns I can find (from the Richmond area) was a godparent 
for one of the children of Francis Lacharity, 
at Notre Dame church.
 
This Jeremiah may have been married to a Murphy. I'll try and see what I can 
find on him from St. Phillip's Church in Richmond. Jeremiah may have had a son named 
Andrew (the gap?) who had a son named Lawrence. Ellen Paul has transcribed the records
at St. Phillips.

enlistment role=born 1791 Wicklow, enlisted march 19, 1816 age 25, was a couper
1851 census suggests he was born 1782,   (maybe he had needed to fudge dob to get in the army?)
 
all the records I find show they were on concession 9 lot 21w, Goulbourn Township

John married Ellen O'meara(b may20,1830)  on jan13, 1851 at St Phillips's
