Hi-

Just visited 'Bytown or Bust' and thought I'd send my Irish great-grandparents' 
names:

William Caldwell b ca 1836 Omagh, Co. Tyrone came to Canada before 1858
(parents: Robert Caldwell and Mary Moore)

married

Margaret Birch/Birtch  b 17 Feb 1846 Cashel, Co Tipperary  (parents:
John Barret and Margaret McLaughlin), came to Canada in 1866.

William and Margaret had 7 children; the first four were born in Ottawa,
the last three in Durham, Ontario.

William died 1883 in Durham, where he was a shoe-maker.

Margaret married James Laurie, a Scotsman, in 1890.  He died the
following year.  She died in 1929 in Toronto.

Note: There's a fine old stone building in the village of Richmond,
where McBean Street crosses the Jock River. On the building is a weathered sign with the name "BIRTCH BROS." See picture on the Richmond page.
