Births, Marriages and Deaths
from the Ottawa Citizen, 1853-1859

New July 28, 2010:

Hi Al;

Too hot, so have been drifting through old newspapers again. Here are some more for your site.
I don't think I've done too many for the 1850s before. Many years missing, as well as many issues,
but that is all I could find for the 1850s Ottawa Citizen on Google. Maybe they'll add more,
if they are available, some day.

Sue _________________________________________ Hi Sue: Thanks very much for this -- it's a lot of work for you! I don't know if you noticed the addition to the page at www.bytown.net/homekids.htm has some entries from a report to the English Parliament in 1889. It lists the names of homechildren who were sent to Canada that year. Some familiar names are included -- a Thomas Tierney from Nepean adopted a home child. He may appear with the family in the 1891 census. Thanks again, ... Al
