School Pamphlet from Fitzroy Township, Ontario, Canada, in 1905
Teacher: Miss Mabel Wilson

New May 10, 2010:

Thanks to Allan Gray for the following. His ancestors in Fitzroy Township were William Kyle and Isabella Turner.

A little four page pamphlet apparently generated by the Fitzroy School Teacher, Mabel Wilson,
for some event or occasion, perhaps a graduation. It lists the school trustees and also the pupils, 24 in number
and dominated by the Cavanagh and Lillie families. There is Walter Kyle my Grandfather William's brother and Bella Jeffrey,
my Grandfather's first cousin - daughter of his father Jeremiah's sister, Mary Kyle.

Bella, more commonly known as Belle, became an elegant spinster living in Ottawa. My mother corresponded for many
years with Belle Jeffrey though I think they never came face to face.

This little pamphlet has pages 3 1/4 by 4/ 3/4 and it also has two very nice, charming and very pertinent poems,
unattributed, but no doubt selected by Miss Mabel Wilson. I will reproduce one of them. Miss Wilson was a classy lady.

"And When the World Shall Link Your Names
With Gracious Lives and Manners Fine,
The Teacher Shall Assert her Claims
And Proudly Whisper: These Were Mine."
