I had no luck at all in tracing Ann and John, but I did see the burial of an Elizabeth 
Gilly in Buckingham, Que., wife of a Peter Brady. And then I found their marriage (attached) 
in Grenville, Que., and her parents were Robert and Eleanor.
 
Do you have ancestry.com or ancestry.ca? They have Quebec Vital Records online.
 
I think this is Elizabeth Gillie and husband Peter Brady in 1881:

That 1881 listing was for James (s/o Robert and Eleanor) and Mary Jane Shannon; they were 
married in Grenville, QC, and some of their kids' baptisms are in the St. Pat's records,
Kent Street, Ottawa.

    I am researching and am descended from the Robert SHANNON Sr. and Maria LOWE clan of 
Quebec and that area.  Another surname in our research is GILLIE and they were connected 
to Ottawa.  James Gillie married Mary Jane Shannon, sister of my great-grandfather Robert 
Shannon Jr. Many emigrated to Michigan, USA.  My cousin Sam Gillie from Hawaii and I have 
been digging for a few years now and will certainly share anything we have to help you too.

Attached is the church record for the adult(?) baptism of Robert Shannon, husband of 
Maria Lowe (from the Quebec Vital Records, ancestry.ca).
 
What information are you looking for? I have a subscription to ancestry.ca, and could 
have a look.

Here's Robert Shannon in 1851, Grenville, Quebec, Deux Montagnes, Kevin. You can see he 
was a neighbour of the Lowes and the Gillies (they are on the same census page).

Thank you for your reply.  The Gillie list below are the family of James and Mary Jane 
Shannon Gillie  James M Gillie (5) is my grandfather.   I visited Ottawa a few years ago.    
 
James' father and mother Robert & Elenor Tracy were married in Dublin Ireland February 1st 
1826, per the research I had done there.  Don't know if they lived in Dublin or Wicklow.  
Am planning to get some additional research there on Elenor.  
 
Per the Ottawa directories they lived on Cathcart St and later moved to 452 Lewis, which 
is still there.  In the mid 1880's they moved to Merrill, Michigan.   The Gillie's and the 
Robert Shannon's were close families.  
 
Don't mind starting a Gillie WEB page, as there are other relatives we are looking for, but 
who inputs and update information? (I do ... Al) 
 
James was a carpenter by trade - and family history is that he worked on the grand staircase 
in the Parliament Building, but that building buried down so I assume the staircase is gone.  
 
Attached are two Pictures of  452 Lewis Street and James and Mary Jane Gillie  (Their son 
John Gillie graduated from Ottawa College with a mining degree - He moved to Butte Montana in 
1880 where he became the Superintendent of Montana Mines for the Anaconda Copper Company.


 
Also, would like to find where Robert and Elenor are buried in Ottawa.

I've noticed in the early Pembroke Mission records that there's a Robert Gillie as godfather a few times. Attached is the 1861
census page for Robert and Ellen Gillie, and I believe it's the same couple who were living with their children in 
Deux-Montagnes in 1851.
