Samuel GRAINGER / GRANGER and Bridget BURNS
December 2, 2007:
Hi Al:
I hope this will interest you. I finally have placed a Catholic FW emigrant
in Osgoode, I believe. (FW is an emigrant from the Fitzwilliam Estate in County Wicklow)
SAMUEL GRANGER married BRIDGET BURNS September 15, 1847 at Notre Dame,
Bytown, daughter of PATRICK BURNS and HELEN KEARNEY. She was born Abt. 1827.
Notes for SAMUEL GRANGER: Samuel is listed as a "convert" on the marriage record,
residing in Osgoode.
Child of SAMUEL GRANGER and BRIDGET BURNS is:
WILLIAM GRANGER, b. August 25, 1848.
Notes for WILLIAM GRANGER:see Our Lady of the Visitation Baptisms (spreadsheet).
Attached is the marriage record from ND, (from the Drouin records at ancestry.ca),
without the mother's name I think. But Dolly Byrne is the bridesmaid,
so I think Bridget (Mrs. Granger) is Bridget from the attached FW sheet, along with
Dolly, her sister.
Now, we have Patrick and Ellen/Helen Byrne on our chart on B or B, and the wife is
shown as a CASEY there, which must
have come from a transcribed record from Ancestry, I guess. But maybe she was a
KEARNEY, as noted in the transcription above.
Anyway, a nice little find!
