Family records, as shared with me by Jan Friend (like me, a descendant of John Rooney 
and Anne Brennan / Brannaugh / Brannack Rooney) show this history:

John Rooney, born in Ireland around 1820 and died July 14, 1870.  John Rooney Married
Anne Brennan / Brannaugh  who was born 1817 and died June 13, 1874.
 
They had the following known children:
1) Anna Rooney who married William Dwyer, son of John Dwyer and Anne Cullen of 
Dwyer Hill, Goulbourn - born in Richmond, Carleton County, Ontario, December 29, 1842 
(see my note below) and died in Nebraska USA August 10, 1919.  They were married in 
Carleton County on January 14, 1868 and went to Shelby County, Iowa in 1874.
2) John Rooney, born November 7, 1844
3) William Rooney, born May 28, 1846
4) Mary Rooney, born April 29, 1848
5) Bernard Rooney, born February 18, 1850.

My note: The family record shows Anne Rooney as born December 29, 1842.  
However, since early births recorded at St. Phillip's, Richmond, Ontario, show the 
baptism of  Anne Rooney, the child of John Rooney and Anne Brunnick[Brennan], 
as occurring in 1842 with Godparents William Rooney and  Rosanna Larkin, it is most 
likely that her year of birth was 1841 and that she was baptized shortly thereafter 
in 1842.  Her brother John Rooney, also the child of John Rooney and Ann Brunnick[Brennan], 
was baptized in 1844 with Godparents James Kennedy and Jessica Fitzgerald.    

I will soon supply more information on Anne Rooney and her husband William Dwyer and 
his family (John Dwyer and Anne Cullen). 

Also - family information, not verified, shows Mary Rooney (born April 29, 1848) as 
having married William O'Grady, born in 1844.  Their children are believed to be:

Andrew O'Grady  born September 15, 1874

Mary M O'Grady born March 29, 1877

Joseph O'Grady born January 10, 1877

Johanna O'Grady born January 8, 1881

Dorothy Bridget O'Grady born September 7, 1883

Edward O'Grady born January 15, 1885

William Anthony O'Grady born 1887

Ellen Beatrice O'Grady born April 14, 1888

Catherine Amelia O'Grady born February 27, 1889

Thomas Henry O'Grady born July 19, 1892.
