James KINCH and Sarah Jane CONNOR
also Alexander KINCH, born 1801 in County Kilkenny, Ireland
January 1, 2004:
Surname: CONNOR and KINCH
My great grandmother's name was Sarah Jane Connor born in 1840 in County Cork,
Ireland. She married James Aaron Kinch from Kitley and they lived in Kitley. They
moved to Wolford (next to Kitley) where she died in February, 1919. Her parents were
James Connor born in County Cork, Ireland in 1796 and Ruth ?? born in County Cork in
1797. If it seems to you as if these two might be related, please advise and I will
share more info with you.
Catherine
Note: There's an Alexander KINCH in Bytown in 1829 ... Al (ML# 372 and ML# 645)
He came from the coal-mining area (Castlecomer) of County Kilkenny.
Some of the Kinch families were Protestant and some Catholic. See Bruce Elliott's article
on emigration from South Leinster (Wexford and Carlow) after the 1798 Rebellion.

Saw your Kinch posting on the Bytown or Bust web site. I'm chasing
the Kinch family name also. My wife's grandmother was Lula Pearl Kinch
from North Gower / Stittsville area of Carleton Co.
Lula's parents were John Alexander and Sarah Taylor, he being born in
North Gower and she in Rideau Township. Lula and her siblings were
born in Souris, Manitoba where Sarah died and presumably is buried
there along with two of the 5 daughters, Delinda and Viola.
John, Lula, Mabel and Lena came back to Ontario where he married
Elizabeth Hyndman in 1912.
John's parents were John and Bridgit Bowler - this couple are buried at
the Holy Trinity Anglican Cemetery in North Gower.
This is a brick wall for me. I can't seem to get past John.
I have a hunch that John may be the eldest child of Alexander Kinch
and his wife Mary Tierney, he fits in nicely but it is purely speculation
on my part.
Can you tell me more about the Kinch family you are searching.

Hi Olav:
Thanks for your e-mail regarding the Kinch family. Do you mind if I add
it, along with your e-mail address, to my Kinch page at bytown or Bust?
I just had a quick look and there are some Kinch records at Notre Dame and
at St. Phillip's in Richmond. For example, here's one from 1895 in Richmond:
24 June
After dispensing with banns and the impediment against mixed marriages,
marriage of William Brennan, a Catholic and son of age of Patrick Brennan
and Martha Deroy (Dubreuille?) of this parish, and Elizabeth Hyndman,
Protestant, daughter of age of Robert Hyndman and Mary Hinch / Kinch
of this parish.
Present: John McNally and Catherine Brennan, his wife.

_____________
I believe the Kinch family I'm searching were Anglican, John and
Bridget buried at Holy Trinity, Vera Emmaline Kinch and her spouse George
Edward Ledger are buried at St. Thomas Anglican Church Cemetery just south
of Stittsville, John Alexander Kinch is also buried at St. Thomas, but
Kathy's grandmother Lula Pearl married a Catholic, Norman Clost, both
buried at Pinecrest.
I'm attaching a report on what I know of the Kinch family.
(two generations shown below)
Most of the folks that I am searching on my wife's side are in fact from
Ottawa - Dunning, Rawlings, Cleary, Kinch, Murphy, Taylor just to mention a few.
