Thomas LYNCH and Mary DALY
County Waterford, Ireland, to Pontiac County, Quebec
September 26, 2016:
Note: There are many Lynch names in the records of St. Philip's RC Church in Richmond, Goulbourn Township.
January 7, 2009:
Does anyone have any information on Ellen Killeen? She was marrried to Matthew Daly,
they lived at Thorne Quebec. Their daughter Mary was married to Thomas Lynch, who is
my great grandfather. They lived in Litchfield, Pontiac County, Quebec, and both are buried in
Vinton Que. Thomas Lynch came from County Waterford Ireland.
Any information would be helpful.
January 10, 2009:
The family is in the 1851 Clarendon, Ottawa County, Quebec census as:
NOTE: Although Matthew and Ellen were born in Ireland, all the children were born
in Canada (Quebec), so they must have emigrated sometime before Peter's 1837 birth
(ages given are the age they will be their 'next' birthday). (Note: see difference on the Larkin web page).
They had at least 7 more children (Catherine, Patrick, Christopher, Dominique, Thomas,
Anthony and Winifred). Most of these latter children were baptised at the
Ile du Grand Calumet church, the first being in 1848, so which church before this year
I don't know. Three of the children's marriages were here also, 1 at Onslow (Quyon records),
and 1 at Portage du Fort. In most of the records at Ile du Grand Calumet, the names are
spelled as Matthew Dayly and Helene Killing. In one instance, Matthew's name is given as
Matthew Edward Dayly.
Hope this helps a bit,
