In doing research on the McIntyre side of the family, I'm afraid I've hit an 
impass.

I do have the following information and I hope some of your readers can 
assist me.

My father was born at Ottawa in 1909 and died 
in 1984.  His father was William Henry McIntyre, and he was born at Clara, 
Head, Maria township in Renfrew North (Copper Cliff / Sudbury area) in 1875. 
He died in 1952.   He had a brother James who was 4 years younger and a 
sister Ellen who was 3 years older.  Their father was Courtney McIntyre and 
he was of Scottish descent and was born in the USA in 1848.  His wife was 
Jennet McIntyre (unaware of maiden name), and she was born in Scotland in 
1848.

My grandfather, William Henry McIntyre was quite a prominent Ottawan from 
the 1920's through to th early 1950's.

At one time of another he was vice-president, general manager of: Ottawa 
Electric Railway, Ottawa Car and Aircraft, Ottawa Ice Company, CCEA, Ottawa 
Auditorium Board.  

He was also a founding member of The Ottawa Hunt and Golf Club, and was 
president of the Ottawa Senators in 1929.

I'd appreciate any help I can get on expanding the McIntyre research.

Thanks to Sue for the following:

Pulled from various censuses and from on-line BMD registrations for 
Ontario, I found the following:
 
Courtney Smith McIntyre, born in the US and died before the 1901 census.  
He married Jennie (Jennet) Hutton who was born in Scotland 26 Dec 1847, 
a daughter of James Hutton (born abt 1812 in Scotland) and Ellen Stewart (born 
abt 1820 in Scotland and died 6 Jan 1893 at age 73, the widow of Jas. Hutton).  
In Jennie Hutton McIntyre's death registration, her son William Henry is the 
informant and gives his mother's maiden name as Ellen Ferguson but I believe 
that he didn't know as at the wedding of presumably Jennie's sister Ellen 
Hutton in Ottawa on 16 April 1879 to William George Williamson, Ellen's 
parents are listed as James Hutton and Ellen Stewart and witnesses to her 
wedding are Mr. & Mrs. Courtney McIntyre.
 
Courtney and Jennie's daughter Ellen (Nellie Constance) married 24 Oct 
1894 George Garibaldi Roe / Rowe.  they had just the one child, daughter 
Winona Constance Roe.  Nellie constance died beofre 1901.  Her widowed mother, 
Jennie McIntyre is enumerated with George Roe in both the 1901 & 1911 Ottawa censuses.
 
Courtney and Jennie's son James Courtney McIntyre married first, on 20 Nov 
1900, Edith Turner who died 17 May 1902 in Ottawa.  On 26 Jan 1907, he married 
Eva B. Brian.
 
Courtney and Jennie's son William Henry McIntyre, says that he was born 15 Jan 
1875 in Ottawa (both Ellen and James also say that they were born in Ottawa).  
On 7 Jan 1896 he married Catherine McCullough.
