Dear Al,
I decided to send Michael Nolan who married Mary Daly (my gt.
grandparents)
separately from the Daly tree so it could go under Nolan. Michael is a son
of William Nolan and Elizabeth Robin (Rowan?) who came from Templeshambo,
Ballindaggin, Co. Wexford to
South Gloucester in the 1820's. His brothers were William and Patrick Nolan
who stayed next to the father's land..
Michael Nolan bought and cleared his own lot in Gore Junction. It is
now
the airport , but it is said that the barn from his land was moved at the
time of
expropriation to the south end on the east side of the Bowesville Rd. near
the Manotick Station Rd(Mitch Owens Rd.). It stands today (a corrrugated
barn painted green) beside the land containing the, still existing, Original
log cabin of the Nolan family. The log cabin is now somewhat hidden behind
trees, with red trim. (This green barn is not to be confused with the
green barn right
at the corner of Bowesville Rd. and Mitch Owens. Michael's barn is about 2
lots north)

One question; Does anyone know anything about a James Shanley of Bowesville
married to a Winnifred Dixon? I think they are connected to James McEvoy
and Mary McEvoy O'Meara.
---------------
The name "DIXON" appears early in the records of St. Michael's in Huntley, spelled
at first as "DICKSON" (c. 1850) and later as "DIXON". I don't see a Winnifred though.
There are also O'MEARAs there.
