I am in the process of working on my family history and have noticed that
you are listed as a source on the Morrisseys from Kilkenny.
I am the great great granddaughter of Nicholas Morrissey listed as the 1st
child on this family tree. I have some handwritten family notes that have
been passed down to me with information on births, deaths, baptisms,
confirmations and some marriages of this family.
I wondered what information you have and who you are related to .
Thanks. Looking forward to hearing from you

Hi Louise:
Sorry, I'm not familiar with Family History ID 1432. Can you tell me what it
is?
Here's my story:
I run a web site in Ottawa, Canada. It's called "Bytown or Bust" and is a
place where people who are researching their Irish ancestors in Ottawa and
area can share info. There are many contributors and, gradually, we're all
building a history of the Irish community in this neck of the woods - mostly
1800's.
There were/are Morrisseys in this area. Most of them came from County
Kilkenny, I think. By now, almost every Irish Catholic family is related to
each other around here, through 150 years of marriages and large families.
If you're interested in this subject (and especially if you wish to
contribute material on your ancestors) you can search the name Morrissey at
the web page below.
Genealogy / History Web Site: www.bytown.net/index.htm
There are a lot of old church records posted there where the name may be
spelled Morris Morrissy Morrison, etc, but have a look anyway.
Thanks for your e-mail, and I look forward to hearing from you!

Al,
I will attach a copy of what I am referring to ID:I432 You are referred to
as a source of the information.
I am actually from Ottawa, born and raised and moved to the Toronto area in
1973. My mother still lives in Alta Vista, Ottawa East (South East)
We are looking into the Morrissey Family and I have already e-mailed Lisa
Bailey and found out that we are related ..... way back...but it is all
interesting. My great aunt left me some handwritten family notes that have
been passed down from the late 1800's and that is where most of my
information comes from. In my notes it talks about this John Morrissey below
and his children. My great grandfather is Nicholas Morrissey B: 1846.
I did check your web site earlier today and find it very interesting. I will
probably add stuff but it will take me a little while.
