Michael NEILL Margaret WYNN

August 23, 2002:

A lucky hit through a Google search took me to your site. I was originally
researching in Lanark County for my grandfather's roots and had erroneously
thought that my grandmother was from another region far removed from the Ottawa
valley. Lo and behold her name appeared on your site along with a number of others.

My grandfather was Thomas James Neill, son of Michael Neill and Margaret Wynn.
He was born in Carleton Place. His first wife was Mary Kelly (not too many
details on her). His second wife was Catherine Anne Finner who I found on your
web site through my search. There are a couple of discrepancies between the
info I have and what I found on your site. On your page of marriages in Huntley
Township 1837-? you list my grandfather as John Thomas with a marriage date of
9/12/1899. The marriage date we have is 14 Sept 1899.

I have to dig into things further but it appears as if the names that I'll be
initially researching through your site will be: Finner, Kelly, Neill (O'Neil)
to see where we get.

Again, thanks for providing the tremendous amount of information.

July 15, 2003: Al, I tried to e-mail Lorne Kelly using your e-mail link, but it couldn't find his address. Can you check this for me, please? This is the main body of the e-mail that I sent: I am trying to find out some information regarding a Mary Kelly, buried St Michael's Corkery. The headstone identifies her as being married to Thomas Neil (sp) and having died 6 Mar 1899 which coincides with the information that I have. If it is correct, then she is the first wife of my grandfather, Thomas Neill, who, after Mary's death, married Catherine Anne Finner (my grandmother). Thomas and Mary had one son, Edward who is buried in St Frances de Sales, Smiths Falls. Thanks.
