Here's an e-mail from Debbie Lopez who is researching the McGee, Burns and
Walsh families:
Pat sent me this this morning, he took this information off headstones in
Eardley:
John McGee died 21 July 1884 at 84 yrs (this is John who came over from
Limerick)
His son George McGee died 8-Feb-1884 at 28 yrs
Another stone: Anne wife of Richard McGee (no stone for Richard in this
graveyard) died 5-7-1884 at 33 yrs
Mary wife of James Walsh died 10-17-1877 at 44 yrs
Another stone: Robert (Robby) J.D. McGee died Feb 10, 1902 at 2 yrs (this is
my grandmother Alena McGee Palmer's brother)
Robert McGee died May 25, 1909 at 60 yrs (this is my
grandmother Alena's father)
Another stone: William McGee (brother to Robert McGee above) 1850-1931 his
wife Hanna Walsh 1855-1923, a son William Richard McGee 1892-1978, a daughter
Sarah Loretta McGee 1902-1992, Catherine McGee 1851-1936 sister of William
Daniel Martin McGee 1859-1933 brother of William
Alena, my grandmothers' brother Bernard Joseph McGee (Pat's dad) born
6-27-1896 died July 1964 married Evelyn Gorman b. 8-5-1907 died 8-13-1991
Alena's brother John Mathew McGee b. 5-1-1893 died 1965 married Mary Flynn b.
1903 died 1980 children Madonna and Gloria.
This helped me fill in a few blanks, and get some information on dates, but he
doesn't have alot. The trip to Ireland was just a weekend in Dublin, and no
research or family farm. But I did find Pat and his sisters and am now
staying in touch with them.
You mentioned the John McGee you found with a wife Bridget, what cemetary?
Although Pat says the John above is the one from Limerick his wife's name was
Bridget and there was no marker for her there or if there was he didn't see
it. Another puzzle. Keep in touch, and I would love the photocopies.
Debbie

Francis McGee, brother of Terrence and Patrick (all on the McCabe List) is my Great-Great Grandfather.
The McGees settled at South Gloucester.
The McGees at South Gloucester were also related by marriage to the Skeffington family.
