Hi ! These two men are listed as owning property in Gloucester township
in 1859 but details are sketchy. Where might I find out more on the
family of Benjamin Piper and Elizabeth Wright ? Benjamin started out
with a lockmaster on the Canal. He came from England an orphan and was
raised by a lockmaster. Ben and Elizabeth raised a family of ten on this
farm. Any clues would be welcome. Thanks for the help.
Joyce

Hi Joyce:
We maybe able to help each other. One of my great-great-great aunts,
Sarah Jane Douglas (born c1861), was married to a Horace Piper. The Douglases
were from Osgoode Tp, ON. The Pipers had two children: Alexander and Horace 'Ace.'
I believe that Horace Sr was Benjamin and Elizabeth (nee Wright) Piper's son.
Sincerely,
Kim McCooeye

Hello, my name is Corinne and I am a granddaughter of Archie Piper, great granddaughter of
Acell Piper and great great granddaughter of Benjamin Piper. I have gather a lot on the family, but
from Benjamin and Elizabeth's children on. I have Benjamin on a 1851 Census where he is
by himself and I know that his first child was born 01 May 1852. So I know that he married
Elizabeth some time in 1851, I am think late spring or early summer. I was wondering if you had
come across any thing on Benjamin or Elizabeth in your research on the Piper family. Or any
information on when they came to Canada. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I can also send on the info that I have gathered if you are interested.
Thank you
Corinne
