Hi Al
 
            I wrote to you last June not sure of what I would find in Canada but I came 
up with quite a lot. It took me down a road I wasnt expecting and found some 
names I never heard of or saw before.
 
            Thanks to Tylor Kennedy I learned about the Monaghan family and then from
Ellen Paul found a John Slattery m Bridget Doorly / Dourly. Edward Monaghan m Catherine
Howe whos parents were Martin Howe m Mary Doorly.  I think I found my gggrand
parents. Still dont know who my ggrand parents were though.
 
             I havent tied the Iowa side ie Monaghan's to the Illinois, Minn. side. But you
might be able to help here. Joseph Quinlan is related to you and maybe the connection
I am looking for. This is what I am looking at.
 
              Joseph Quinlan's son Thomas m Catherine Goodall. Catherine's brother's
Arthur Goodall m Catherine Tierney oldest daughter Mary Rose m Bart Monaghan Jr.
 
              Denis Quinlan from Illinois was born 1839 or 1840 in Lamont Ill. His parents
were Patrick Quinlan m Mary Regan. Since a lot of I & M canal workers come from
Ottawa area I thought that maybe Patrick and Joseph could be related.
