April 10, 2004:
Came across your site on the internet and wonder what additional information
you may have on Patrick Reardon in Nepean? I know they were there in 1866
as they had triplets, 2 girls and a boy and they are recorded in the 1871
census. My Patrick was the youngest of 7 children of John Reardon and
Catherine Casey Reardon. John and Catherine came to Asphodel Peterborough
County in 1825 as part of the Peter Robinson settlers. Most of the Reardon
family immigrated to the Saginaw Michigan, USA, area in 1853. But have not been
able to find any information on Patrick. I have birth dates for Patrick as
either 1823 or 1825. I think he died 1894 in Ottawa and think he married
Sarah Ann O'Connor. Can you add any additional information about the Patrick
referenced in your file to see if it is the same family? Any leads appreciated.
Thank You - Linda Rairdan DenBoer

Hi Linda:
Thanks for your e-mail.
I'm also interested in the Peter Robinson settlers who came to the Peterborough
area in 1825 -- there are lots of connections between the Ottawa area folks and
the Peterborough area settlers.
I just had a quick look and found the following baptism record from Notre Dame
church in downtown Ottawa:
16 Sep 1849, Baptism of John, born 20 July, son of Patrick Reardon and Sarah Connors.
Godparents: John & Catherine Reardon
Source: Ellen Paul's records of Notre Dame.
There are other members of this family and probably also some records for them
at St. Philip's Church in Richmond and at St. Michael's in Corkery.
I'm running a bit behind on the web site these days but will start a new page
and will try to add some more info in a day or so.
