James SAVAGE and Roseann SCULLION
Belfast, Ireland to the Gatineau Valley

May 14, 2004:

Hello Al - I am searching for the SAVAGE family in the East Templeton /
Buckingham areas..

My great-grandfather James SAVAGE ,b. August 06, 1830, emigrated in 1850
from Belfast. His wife Roseann (SCULLION) Savage may have come at the same
time or a year or so later. She died on September 15, 1883. They had 10
children ( 9 of whom I have found)They are not listed on the 1881 census. I
think the pages are missing. In the 1901 census, James is listed as living
at Lot 3, 6th Range, East Templeton Township, Wright County, Quebec. This
information is from inGeneas. The 1901 census itself was taken in Prov of
Quebec district Wright, district # 200, sub-district Templeton, sub-district
# u-2, schedule 1, St-Antoine-de-Perkins. Reference # RG31, Statistics
Canada. microfilm # T-6549, finding aid # 31-40 (page 7)
Others listed in the household are: Jemima Savage, daughter (single) aged
20; ( this is an error - she was 30) Savage, James E., grandson, aged
7;Savage, Patrick, grandson, aged 5.
James died in 1911, possibly in Ottawa; he and Roseann are buried at
St-Antoine-de-Paduoe, Perkins, Quebec.
Their children were:
1-Maria b ? d ?
2-Henry , b. December 09, 1851 ?
3-James Junior, b July 12, 1853
4-Patrick b. about 1860 in East Templeton, d. 1942, Sudbury, Ontario, buried
Roman Catholic Cemetery in Sudbury.
5-Alice Jane b. about 1861, d. September 04, 1880
6-Sarah Agnes b. October 17, 1865, baptized Nov 19. 1865 in L'Ange Gardien
Parish in Angers, Quebec (this is my grandmother.) d. Nov. 09, 1937, Kipewa,
Quebec, buried in St. Anne's Cemetery, Mattawa, Ontario. We were always told
that she was born in Buckingham.
7-Matilda b. 1867
8-Jemima Rose Ann (Mina) b. April 12, 1871, d. 1958 in Ottawa, Buried Notre
Dame, Ottawa.
9-Maggie b. June 07, 1872, d. about 1940, buried Notre Dame, Ottawa.

If there is SKS who has access to the 1871 or earlier census, I'd really
appreciate any information available.
Thanks
